Rock climbing guide in Suesca

Cradle of rock climbing in Colombia and the largest climbing crag in the country, Suesca boasts 3 km of cliffs that can reach 140 m in height. You will find about 500 routes, both sport and traditional, several bouldering areas, 3 via ferratas and multi-pitches for all levels.

These crags are located one to four hours away from Bogota and can be discovered with our day trips.

AVAILABLE CRAGS

In Valle Escondido in Choachí, at about 3,100 meters above sea level, you will find high quality rock in an exceptional environment.
Come test your endurance on the legendary overhangs of Macheta Viejo, and a little further on, in the extension of the same crag, in the Salón de la Justicia, you will discover a combination of traditional crack routes and various styles of sport routes.
For bouldering, we offer trips to Sutatausa, north of Bogota.
About ten kilometers away from Sogamoso, you will find the cliffs of Puente Reyes, with a multitude of routes, from 5.8 to 5.12.
Between Villa de Leyva and Tunja, overlooking the region at an altitude of more than 3,000 meters, is Cucaita, a crag now boasting aroung 75 routes and created by Mono Castellano, who will be happy to show it to you.
He also created the crag of Arcabuco, near Tunja.

SANTANDER
Let’s discover together the mythical crag of La Mojarra, located only an hour and a half by transport from Bucaramanga, and very close, in the canyon of Chichamocha, the cliffs of Macaguato and their 200m-300m long multi-pitches.
One of the places with the greatest climbing potential in Colombia is in Florián, with exceptional limestone formations, where you will find the largest caves equipped for climbing in Colombia, including the Ventanas del Tisquizoque, where you can climb over a 300m high waterfall…
TOLIMA
On a river, in a more humid climate, about 3 hours from Bogata, with routes, bouldering and even psicobloc, discover the crag of Payande.
In the vicinity of Ibague, possibly in conjunction with an expedition in the national park of los Nevados, you can try one of the 80 sport routes of the Rocas de Juntas.
BOYACA
Discover the routes of San Roque, in Güicán de la Sierra, with an amazing view of the snow-caped mountains el Cocuy and the village.
The crag of El Palchacual, at 3600m above sea level, in the moutains above El Cocuy.
